‘Amazing’ poets Lily, 12 and Vivien 11, publish new books

Creative Walden, based at Fairycroft House, have published new books by Lily Frisenda Thomas, 12, and Vivien Neupaerova, 11. An incredible achievement for two young girls but what makes it even more extraordinary is the fact that both have had their work published before.

Lily Frisenda Thomas’s book ‘She is Poetry’ arrives three years after her debut ‘On a Stream of Wonder’ hit the shelves of local bookshops.

“There is real depth to her work. Lily is so observant, she takes in everything around her and crafts the most intelligent and touching poems,” said Paul Bellany, who has run the Writers Room for the last nine years.

Vivien Neupauerova’s book ‘Amazing’ supersedes her 2023 collection ‘Topsy Turvy’.

Vivien’s first book Topsy Turvy was very popular.

“Vivien is prolific, she reads books like other people breathe air and it shows in her vocabulary. She is also pin-sharp smart and funny,” said Paul.

Creative Walden is a powerhouse for creativity, already this year they have produced a CD of poems and songs penned by the young writers including a reversion of Pink Floyd’s hit anthem ‘Another Brick in the Wall’. That is on sale at Art Beats.

“We have big plans for further songs and publications plus a young filmmakers club,” said Paul.

“The growth in confidence is mirrored by the courage to really produce great work. It is so uplifting to be a part of that process. I am particularly excited about a Victorian novel expertly crafted by a sixteen-year-old from the older group,” said Writers Room tutor, Anna Percival.

The books are available at Hart’s, Tourist information and Amazon.

“I am the best colour.”
“You can’t be any duller.”
But the best colour was their purple brother.
