Write for you life – New 12-week LifeStoryTellers course announced

We all have a story that, for many differing reasons, wants to be told.

Where to start? How to captivate? What format your story should take? How to draw out the drama? How to stay true to your story and how to negate upsetting others who don’t play out too well in your narrative? How to avoid the pitfalls of structure? These and many other questions will be examined in the 12-week LifeStoryTellers programme at Saffron Walden’s Fairycroft House in 2025.

Writing is a great way of making sense of our past and its ramifications to our present and future. It can often be a way of unburdening ourselves or championing our achievements, both leading to a satisfying sense of freedom. I have written in memoir, fiction, poetry and also in film and will be sharing what I feel is the best approach to navigate both positive and tricky terrain in the various formats.

Paul Bellany, Creative Walden

Whilst we are not ‘our story’ (as in what has happened to us), it is ours to tell if we choose to and in doing so we can powerfully navigate our inner world, gain clarity, celebrate joys, record important milestones and make sense of and hopefully make peace with our past.

I always feel better when I write. This can be through journaling, poems, letters to people (that I may not send), stories, dialogues and more. I find that writing freely in this way is transformative, truth seeking, life affirming and a very effective outlet for stress. Whilst I am a therapist, these sessions are not therapy. The act of writing our stories however has undeniable therapeutic value and healing potential. When we share our stories, we share a piece of ourselves with others and give power to others to do the same. We hope to connect, to be understood, to be seen and valued. This is also what I hope for in this group. I hope to support you in creatively expressing your story, your truth, your insights and to make meaningful and joyful connections along the way.

Luisa Frisenda, Creative Wellbeing

The price of the course is £420 for twelve sessions. There will be opportunities for one-to-one sessions at a further charge.

Each intensive session will run for 90 minutes and will include a sharing break.

Once we have a minimum number, we will set the dates and invite you to join us.

Writing your life can be life changing and we encourage you to dig deep, be brave and tell your story in the way that best suits your goals.
